1. What Cops R Us is
Cops R Us operates a directory. We publish listings submitted by independent individuals and make them searchable. We are not a security company, staffing agency, or employer. We do not provide services, dispatch anyone, or take part in any engagement arranged through the site.
2. No vetting, no endorsement
We do not background-check, licence-verify, insure, endorse, or recommend anyone listed. Appearance in the directory means only that someone submitted a listing. Verification is the responsibility of whoever is hiring.
3. No police authority
People listed here work as private individuals. They do not act under colour of law, hold no police authority through this site, and cannot make arrests beyond the rights of any private citizen in that jurisdiction.
4. Licensing is the individual's responsibility
Security and investigative work is licensed at state and sometimes local level. Every person listed is solely responsible for holding the licences, permits, registrations, and insurance required where they work. A law enforcement career does not by itself confer a private licence.
5. Listings
You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit. Listings must not misrepresent service history or credentials, offer unlawful services, or be used to harass anyone. We may edit or remove any listing at any time, for any reason.
6. Engagements are between the parties
Any arrangement made through this directory is solely between the officer and the person hiring them. We are not a party to it, take no fee from it, and have no responsibility for performance, payment, conduct, or outcome.
7. No guarantee
We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, that anyone is available or qualified, or that any outcome will result from using this site.
8. Not legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice. Consult counsel about your rights and obligations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cops R Us is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this site or from any engagement arranged through it. Have counsel set the liability cap and indemnity terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of state to be specified.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.
